Telegram, an application known for its privacy-focused messaging, is taking a stance on the current state of the world. They are allocating $200,000 to a contest to make short form or long form content on the topics Pavel Durov, the founder and CEO of Telegram FZ-LLC, talked about in his speech.

What are the requirements?

The requirements of this contest are stated on Telegram's "Telegram Contests" account and also stated below:

  • You must use at least some ideas and footage from Pavel Durov's speech;
  • You may add any other media and ideas to promote digital freedom;
  • You may submit multiple videos across multiple platforms.
  • You may use any language and any tools to create your video.

They also state that if they believe that your video was low quality or you may have botted views, you will not be entered into the prize pool.

Who gets the money?

Every video posted on TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat Spotlights, or X that garners 10,000+ views can be entered into the competition. In August, 2026, the creators will be compensated for their effort in the contest. The money will be split between all qualifying videos. Telegram states that they will publish the instructions on how to enter into the contest on July 6th. On July 15th at 11:59pm Dubai time, the contest will be closed.
